FCN awards Pumpkin Prize
Well done to Andy Ryland, Rural Officer for the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds, for correctly guessing the weight of the pumpkin on the FCN stand at Countryside Live.
He admits that carrying 25 kilograms of pumpkin back to the car was something of a challenge but it is now sitting in the cool of his garage waiting to be carved.
Andy explained: –
“I was keen to support Farm Crisis network which does fantastic work to support farmers in times of crisis especially when they need to talk. Famers are often working alone and sometimes can get stressed or depressed and really need someone from the farming background to talk with.”
So for Andy’s sons, Peter 10 and Callum 8, half term will be taken up with the task of making a happy face for All Souls day to remind us of the light of Christ rather than the spokes of Halloween.
