If your area of the UK is not listed, that does not mean that FCN cannot provide support. Anyone in the UK is welcome to ring FCN’s Helpline and wherever possible through our links with local churches we will endeavour to provide local support.
South West England
Devon
FCN has been working in Devon for over 12 years, and gained a huge amount of experience and profile through the Foot & Mouth Disease outbreak in 2001. Devon FCN is coordinated by Brian Warren, a dairy farmer from Crediton, and has one of the highest workloads in the country.
Cornwall
FCN’s group in Cornwall works alongside Devon, and was formed in 2001 as a response to the Foot & Mouth Disease outbreak. Cornwall FCN is coordinated by Peter Clarke, a retired farmer. In Cornwall, FCN currently receives some funding for its work under Objective One (from the European Union & Defra).
Somerset
Somerset FCN is coordinated by Suzie Wilkinson, a beef farmer from Wedmore. FCN has been working in Somerset for over 12 years.
Dorset
Dorset FCN is coordinated by Nick Viney, a former dairy farmer. Nick has also been instrumental in coordinating the formation of ‘FARMS’ groups across the South West, bringing local groups of farming people and families together in an informal environment.
Wiltshire
Wiltshire FCN is coordinated by Anthony Matthew, a farm relief worker. Anthony also coordinates FCN’s Helpline work.
Gloucestershire
FCN does not have a group in Gloucestershire. A similar service is provided by a local partner organisation, Gloucestershire Farming Friends . To contact them direct please ring 0845 300 6886. Alternatively you can call the FCN Helpline on 0845 367 9990.
