Farming Help Appeal
The Farming Help charities (FCN, RABI & ARC-Addington Fund) have launched an appeal, in conjunction with Farmers Weekly, to raise much needed funds to help those in the farming community who are facing hardship and difficulty, and to raise awareness of the support available. The appeal has the backing of NFU, CLA, TFA and NFYFC.
For many in farming, 2007 has been a tough year so far: – low product prices, bad weather and flooding, poor harvest yields, Foot & Mouth Disease and Bluetongue. The Farming Help charities are experiencing very heavy workloads which are anticipated to rise further over the coming months due to movement restrictions, fodder shortages and financial problems exacerbated by recent events. Some financial support for the charities has been promised by Defra to help with the workload.
If you would like to make a donation to the appeal you can do so online by clicking here or by cheque, made payable to ‘Farming Help Appeal’ and sent to: Farming Help Appeal, c/o RABI, Shaw House, 27 West Way, Oxford OX2 0QH Remember there may be tax benefits to businesses who make charitable donations.
The Farming Help charities will channel any donations directly to their work (which in the case of FCN will include the local support groups doing similar work alongside them in certain areas of the country). Please note: to avoid adding to the charities’ already increased workload, individual donations may not be acknowledged in writing. RABI will be happy to confirm receipt of appeal donations if they are called on 01865 724931.
