FCN ready to help farmers affected by Avian Influenza
FCN volunteers are ready to provide help and support to farmers affected by the recent Avian Influenza outbreak in Oxfordshire and the associated movement restrictions.
It is hoped that the confirmed outbreak will not spread further so that disruption to poultry farmers will be limited, at what is already a difficult time for many with the increasing cost of feed.
FCN’s Helpline is available from 7am-11pm every day on 0845 367 9990, and a visit from a local FCN volunteer will be offered wherever possible or appropriate.
FCN volunteers across the UK are continuing to provide help and support to many farming people affected by Bluetongue disease movement restrictions as well as delayed Single Farm Payments. Currently FCN is receiving three times the number of calls to its Helpline compared with the same period last year, and the high workload looks set to continue for some time.
